LG Electronics is giving itself a big pat on the back after landing no less than 140 awards and accolades for the new products it unveiled at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which concluded last week.

The awards were dished out by a veritable who’s who of media organizations and websites covering the event, including Engadget, Popular Mechanics, Reviewed.com, SlashGear, TechRadar and many others. LG also landed 17 CES Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) for its home entertainment and home appliance products.

As far as HDTVTest is concerned, LG is well deserving of the Engadget Best of CES Award in the TV category, which it won for the fifth consecutive year. The company easily scooped up the accolade thanks to its innovative new 65-inch rollable OLED TV, the LG Signature OLED TV R, which dazzled pretty much everyone present at CES with the way it neatly rolled up inside its box when not in use.

Engadget wasn’t the only organization to notice LG’s rollable technological marvel, which also landed awards from PC Mag, Reviewed.com, SlashGear, Techlicious, Tom’s Guide, TechRadar and others. In total the TV won more than 70 accolades for LG, the company said in a press release this week.

LG offered up plenty of other innovations that stood out at CES too. It also won accolades for its massive new 88-inch OLED 8K TV, which was named as the best TV in its category by the CTA. The company’s new flagship 8K 88-inch OLED display, called the “Z9”, scooped the award thanks to new features including support for HDMI 2.1 and its new Alpha 9 Gen 2 processor, which enables a number of advanced features plus better audio and picture quality

In addition, LG’s new SL9YG soundbar also took home the CTA Best of Innovation award in its particular product category. Standout features of the SL9YG soundbar include support for Dolby Atmos and Google Assistant, plus integration with Meridian’s Upmix technology, which is said to improve the “sound field” in order to increase immersion and “highlight the clarity of vocals and lead instruments”.

LG snagged a bunch of non-TV related awards from CES too, thanks to its newly unveiled LG V40 ThinQ smartphone and its new lineup of ultra thin LG gram laptops.

And lest we forget, the Korean firm was also rewarded for its innovative new LG HomeBrew device - a smart craft beer-brewing machine that’s able to produce up to five litres of your favourite alcoholic tipple in just two weeks.
