Samsung Electronics is trying to tempt buyers by throwing in a free, complimentary HW-T400 soundbar for anyone who buys one of its 2020 QLED TVs. The promotion, which runs until August 11 in the U.K. and Ireland, applies to any QLED TV model that’s 55-inches or above.
As part of the promotion, customers can alternatively choose to buy a discounted 2020 Q-Series soundbar, with prices starting at just £200.
The HW-T400 is Samsung’s entry-level soundbar for 2020. The company describes it as a compact but powerful audio system that “elevates the sound experience with deep bass and impressive sound.”
But serious audiophiles may be more interested in upgrading to one of Samsung’s Q-Series soundbars instead. The Q-Series soundbars include its 3.1.2-channel HW-Q800T (pictured), which supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X multi-dimensional audio technology, and comes with a feature called “Q-Symphony” that lets TV owners use the soundbar together with the television’s built-in speakers for an enhanced audio effect. The Samsung HW-Q800T is currently priced at £799, so that’s a pretty decent discount being offered.
Samsung’s 2020 QLED TV range includes its flagship 8K model, the 85-inch Q950TS QLED display, which wowed audiences at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year with its stunning “Infinity design” that all but eliminates the bezel except for a thin strip at the bottom.
The Q950TS went on sale in May, when Samsung revealed its full specifications and a list of premium features that includes its Tizen operating system with support for apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, a single HDMI 2.1 port and optional HDMI 2.1 features, support for HDR10+ and Apple AirPlay 2.
Samsung said the promotion applies to its Q950T, Q900T, Q800T, Q90T, Q85T Q80T, Q75T, Q70T, Q65T and Q60T QLED TVs, and that buyers can choose either the HW-TW400 soundbar as a free gift, or upgrade to the HW-Q800T, HW-Q70T or HW-Q60T soundbars.
