LG Electronics is teasing consumers ahead of next month’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with a sneak preview of its upcoming 2020 soundbar lineup, which will be fully unveiled during the event.

The new soundbars come with features that should sound like music to the ears of most audiophiles, including premium quality audio, ease of connectivity and sleek designs that integrate perfectly with LG’s TVs.

There are also more advanced features too, such as “Image Elevation”, which LG says should enable more immersive listening experiences by “elevating the perceived height of lead instruments and vocals.”

But the headline new feature is something LG calls “AI Room Calibration”, which is a system powered by artificial intelligence software that’s able to automatically adjust the output from the soundbars in order to perfectly match the acoustics of whatever room they’re in.

That should be useful because no two rooms are quite the same, which means there’s no ‘one size fits all’ setting that can be relied upon to perfectly calibrate the speaker each time. With LG’s new soundbars users won’t have to worry as they’ll adjust their output automatically, according to the dimensions of the space they’re located in.

AI Room Calibration goes hand in hand with other features such as Meridian Audio tuning, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound that makes it appear as if the audio is coming from multiple directions at once. The soundbars also offer advanced processing that upscales the audio quality so it appears as if it was produced in a professional studio, LG said.

“Our goal has always been to bring better sound to more people and by offering more great products that leverage our successful partnership with Meridian, our latest soundbars help achieve this,” Park Hyung-woo, head of LG’s audio and video business, said in a statement.

Buyers will also be able to enjoy more “cinema-like” audio with the optional SPK8 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit that LG says is compatible with most of its new soundbars. The company also says Google Assistant is built into more of its soundbar models in 2020, which means users will be able to control the devices with their voice. Finally, LG said its flagship soundbar for 2020 will also come with two wireless rear speakers in order to deliver “incredibly immersive”, 360-degree sound.

LG’s premium soundbar lineup for 2020 includes the SN10YG, SN9YG and SN8YG models, as well as the 7.1.4-channel SN11RG. Naturally, LG says each one of these will make the perfect audio partner for its next generation TVs, including its first “Real 8K” TVs that are set to be announced at CES.
