Making its debut just as many people begin writing up their Christmas wish lists, the Xiaomi Smart Projector L1 is a compact, portable 1080p model with multiple automatic picture setting tools, and it’s going on sale globally.
A report in Notebook Check says the Xiaomi Smart Projector L1 is going on sale imminently, and it looks to be an entry-level model, with its Full HD resolution and maximum image size of 120-inches diagonally. The company recommends, however, that you keep your pictures between 60-inches and 100-inches for the best possible picture.
It’s a Google TV model which means you’ll get access to all of the top streaming applications, including Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video, and there’s Chromecast available for streaming content from an Android smartphone. Of course, being a Google device, the Google Assistant is there too, supporting voice-based commands.
According to Xiaomi, the Smart Projector L1 has a 1.2:1 throw ratio and it can support 4K resolution content despite only being Full HD. It’s clearly intended for use at night times, though, as it only provides 200 lumens of brightness. For ease of setting up, there are features like autofocus, automatic keystone correction and automatic obstacle avoidance.
The sound is provided by a pair of 3-watt integrated speakers and the device supports Dolby Audio, enabling a surround sound experience when hooked up to external speakers. Its compact dimensions of 118 x 142 x 176 mm and low 1.2 kg weight make it small enough to throw in a small bag and carry around.
We don’t yet know how much the Xiaomi Smart Projector L1 will cost, as the exact release date and pricing details have not yet been published. However, the fact it’s listed on Xiaomi’s website suggests it will be launching very soon, perhaps as early as this week. Moreover, it’s likely to launch in numerous countries all over the world, as is common with Xiaomi’s products once they’re listed on its main website.
So if you’re in the market for a super portable and very low cost projector for some late night, big-screen thrills, Xiaomi’s latest model could be just what you’re looking for.
