Loewe's We. BOOST creates an immersive 3D soundscape in any room

Premium OLED TV maker Loewe is turning its attention away from picture quality and back towards audio with the launch of We. BOOST, a wireless plug-and-play Dolby Atmos-capable home theatre sound system that’s likely to compete with Sony’s Bravia Theatre setups.

Loewe We. BOOST consists of four wireless active up-firing speakers and a meaty subwoofer that supports various Dolby audio formats, including the premium Dolby Atmos specification, in order to deliver more immersive 3D sound.

According to Loewe, the system is officially a 4.1.2-channel configuration, but there are actually four upward-firing speakers in total – with one in each speaker – suggesting that in reality it’s more like 4.1.4.

The company seems to think that its surround sound set up might be a good option for football fans wanting to immerse themselves in the action and imagine they’re sitting right there in the stadium. It points out that the 720-watt sound system is endorsed by none other than French international and Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé, who notably owns a stake in the company. Previously, Mbappé helped the company to market its We. HEAR Pro Bluetooth speaker.

The system comes with a fancy remote control that’s illuminated by an integrated OLED display, enabling simple adjustment of elements like the bass, treble and switching between various sound modes, even in the dark. The remote connects to the system using energy-saving Bluetooth Low Energy, while the speakers themselves use a standard wireless signal.

Loewe sells a range of luxury OLED TVs that can be paired with the system, including the concrete-clad Stellar OLED TV and another called the Loewe Stellar Alu Black + Lava, which features cooled lava in its back panel for a more impressive aesthetic. That said, the company stressed that the We. BOOST system can work with any TV, as well as third-party projectors.

According to Loewe, the We. BOOST system will cost £999 and will be available from select retailers in June.
