Loewe debuts the smart and stylish We.Beam laser projector

Since reinventing itself a few years ago, German luxury electronics brand Loewe has grown to become about more than just TVs, launching a series of audio products for home theatres, and even an espresso maker.

However, it hasn’t forgotten its focus on high-end visual equipment either, becoming even more creative in that department. After recently announcing that it will be manufacturing its very own OLED panels at its facility in Germany, it’s now launching its first-ever projector. And not just an ordinary projector, but a portable, smart laser model.

The new device is called the Loewe We.Beam, and as the name suggests it’s the kind of gadget that aims to create a more cinematic experience in your living room, beaming high quality pictures onto a screen or even a bare wall. Its compact frame means it can even serve as a projector on the go.

As always with Loewe, it’s one of the most stylish products in its class, with its designers managing to strike a perfect balance between minimalism, sleek, storm grey-coloured aesthetics, a touch of acoustic fabric and powerful functionality.

According to Loewe, the compact but powerful We. BEAM is capable of bringing big-screen magic to your life in any location, delivering stunning HDR picture quality at Full HD resolution, with a picture that can expand from 40-inches all the way up to 120-inches. It’s highly adaptable too, capable of beaming pictures onto the ceiling if you so desire. With 500 lumens of brightness, easily surpassing other portable projectors, it’s ideal for setting up in a darkened space, a cosy living room or even a garden terrace in the evening twilight.

Loewe promises minimal effort in terms of installation, with the projector’s laser automatically adjusting its beam according to the angle of the projection surface, thanks to its auto screen alignment and keystone correction capabilities. The laser itself is powered by some fancy laser phosphor display tech, ensuring crisp and vibrant visuals in any setting, the company claims.

The We.Beam weighs in at just 830 grams, so it can easily be carried in a small rucksack, and comes equipped with streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube, providing lots of content. There’s also a few stealth-like speakers under the hood, delivering a respectable 10-watts of audio output, though of course Loewe is only too happy to suggest it can be paired with a range of external audio products, such as its new We. HEAR pro speaker, or a soundbar like the Loewe klang bar3 mr.

It also supports Miracast, enabling content to be streamed from a smartphone or tablet, and there’s a HDMI port and Bluetooth support for additional connectivity options.

No matter if you’re using it at home or on the go, the Loewe We.Beam is a stylish, almost elegant gadget that promises to deliver bright, colourful cinematic-style pictures with effortless convenience. Power options include plugging it into a socket directly (with adapters for the U.K. EU and Australia included) or a USB-C battery pack, so it can be taken anywhere on your travels.

Loewe said the We.Beam smart laser projector is available to buy in the U.K. now at select retailers, priced at £849.
