LG Electronics has announced U.K. prices for its mid-range LG C5 OLED TV, and it’s taking pre-orders now. The news comes after it unveiled prices for its flagship G5 OLED TV last week.
For those who don’t know, LG’s C-series OLED TVs sit below the more premium G-Series models, but above the B-series range of entry level OLED televisions, for which prices have still not been announced.
The C-series OLED models have always been extremely popular, and although they don’t feature all of the premium bells and whistles found on the G-series models, they typically earn rave reviews anyway. The company said at CES 2025 in January that the C5 OLED models come with some serious improvements over last year’s C4, with a brighter OLED panel, a more advanced processor and beefed up AI processing capabilities.
LG said the 42-inch C5 will cost £1,400 when it goes on sale, making it the cheapest new OLED model it has announced thus far this year. It also announced prices for the 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch C5 TVs, which will cost £1,900, £2,700 and £3,800 respectively. We should note that these prices are identical to the starting prices of last year’s equivalent-sized C4 TVs, which is a bonus as it means buyers are getting more bang for their buck, considering the improvements.
The company also plans to sell 48-inch and 83-inch versions of the C5 OLED TV, but prices haven’t been published yet. We can’t say for sure how much they’ll cost, but if LG sticks with its stagnant pricing strategy for these models, then we can expect them to be priced at £1,500 for the 48-inch version, and approximately £6,000 for the 83-incher, based on last year’s C4 equivalents.
If you’re looking for something bigger, say 97-inches, you’ll have no choice but to plump for a G5 OLED TV instead, as LG has no plans to launch a C5 in that size. But be mindful that it will set you back a cool £24,999.
It’s notable that the C5 provides quite a steep discount on the G5 television. If you want that flagship model and its snazzy new Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel that boosts brightness and colour accuracy to unprecedented heights, you’ll need to pay quite a bit more. The 48-inch G5, which is the smallest in that range, starts at £1,799, about £300 more than what we expect the 48-inch C5 will go for.
The 55-inch G5 will be priced at £2,399, around £400 more expensive than the same sized C5, while the 65-inch G5 will cost £3,299, making it £600 more than the equivalent C-series model. As for the 77-inch G5, it starts at £4,499, meaning a premium of £700.
You can order the LG C5 now from LG’s official website or retailers such as John Lewis and Richer Sounds, and you can expect to receive them in late March or early April.
