ASRock is a company that’s best known for its motherboards, graphics cards and industrial PCs, but now it’s looking to expand its horizons and make its presence felt in the gaming monitor segment with, not one, not even two, but three new high-end OLED displays.
Set to launch next year, the new Phantom Series gaming monitors include the 32-inch ASRock PGO32UFS, the 27-inch PGO27QFS and the 27-inch PGO27QFV. The first two are fitted with WOLED displays supplied by LG Display, while the latter sports a QD-OLED screen made by Samsung Display.
The new ASRock monitors are set to be some of the best in the business, and should provide far superior graphics than most LCD gaming monitors. Moreover, two of them are the first monitors in the world to be confirmed to support Wi-Fi 7, the latest standard in Wi-Fi connectivity. They’ll go head-to-head with rival displays from more established OLED monitor brands, such as Samsung, LG, Acer, Asus and Dell’s Alienware.
The biggest monitor, the PGO32UFS (below), weighs in at 32-inches and features a flat WOLED panel with 4K resolution and a rapid 240Hz refresh rate, with support for Dual Mode, enabling it to reach 480Hz at 1080p resolution.
The 27-inch PGO27QFS is another flat-screen WOLED display, featuring 1440p resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, and also supports Dual Mode.
Meanwhile, the 27-inch PGO27QFV has a flat QD-OLED panel and it maxes out at 360Hz with 1440p resolution.
All three of the monitors come with HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity, and there are additional USB-C ports. VRR gaming is enabled through AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
What’s interesting about the PGO32UFS (WOLED) and the PGO27QFV (QD-OLED) models is that they will support Wi-Fi 7, making them the first monitors in the world to do so. According to ASRock, this will enable them to function as a kind of Wi-Fi antenna, eliminating the need to place one under the desk or in a PC cabinet. The monitor can then be used to connect the PC to the Wi-Fi via an included cable, the company explained. In this way, you’ll be able to ensure your PC has a strong signal, even if the router is located in another room.
ASRock said that all three monitors cover 99% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, ensuring vibrant and vivid graphics in any scenario. Add to that, they have a 0.03 milliseconds response time, and the company has promised “rigorous colour calibration” before shipping each one to ensure Delta E<2 accuracy.
“To maximize longevity, the series is equipped with advanced cooling solutions, pixel cleaning, and automatic brightness adjustment to prevent image retention, guaranteeing consistent performance and visual quality over time," the company added.
The new ASRock monitors are set to go on sale in the first half of 2025, and pricing will be announced later. We’ll likely see the monitors on display at CES 2025 next month, along with many other new WOLED and QD-OLED monitors set to launch next year.
