Samsung is trying to lighten the mood for people stuck at home with the launch of its very own comedy channel on the Samsung TV Plus service.

The not-so-amusingly titled “Comedy channel” is arriving on Samsung televisions this week, and offers dozens of top comedy shows from the U.K. and the U.S., featuring TV funnymen such as Russel Howard and Dave Gorman. All in all, the new channel provides access to hours of entertainment and laughs, Samsung said.

Some of the shows on offer on the Samsung Comedy channel include seasons 1 to 5 of Dave Gorman’s Modern Life is Goodish, which combines the comedian’s unique mix of stand-up, visual storytelling and real-world experimentation. Also worth watching is Russell Howard & Mum: USA Road Trip seasons 1 and 2, with the stars of the show embarking on an epic trip across the United States and meeting an eclectic mix of characters along the way who share with them some unusual hobbies and obsessions.

Russel Howard fans will also enjoy all ten seasons of his Good News series, a widely acclaimed show that offers a mix of topical stand-up and sketches that showcase his unique and quirky takes on various global news stories and current affairs.

Other shows on offer include seasons 1 to 6 of Hot in Cleveland, Taskmaster Moments, and 21 short films including titles such as Dear Gnome, Mousetrap and Run By Fruiting, among others.

“Since the UK launch of Samsung TV Plus in 2019, we have continuously looked at how we can expand and evolve our channel offering to guarantee our Smart TV customers the very best content offerings," said Deep Halder, Head of TV/AV Retail and Content Services, Samsung Electronics UK Ltd. “We are exceptionally pleased to be able to launch our very own Comedy channel, providing fun entertainment for anyone who enjoys light-hearted TV shows.”

Samsung said this is just the latest in a series of recent additions to its growing Samsung TV Plus platform, following Bloomberg+ 4K, Euronews Live, Fuel TV and Qwest. Samsung TV Plus now offers access to more than 80 live and on-demand channels, the company said.
