Some of LG Electronics’ higher-end 2022 OLED televisions are now available to buy in the U.K., Europe and the U.S., including its B2, C2 and G2 models. For those hoping to snap up the more affordable LG A2, or splash out on the luxurious 8K resolution LG Z2, they’ll have to wait a few more weeks.
The LG B2, C2 and G2 OLED TVs are some of the first in the world to sport the benefits of Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail. What this means is that, when display Dolby Vision content, the display can adjust the light level in each part of the screen to perfect the contrast, sharpness and overall details in the picture.
In addition, the two higher end models - the C2 and G2 - are equipped with LG OLED Evo panels and benefit from the company’s new Brightness Booster (Brightness Booster Max in the G2).
There’s a smaller size option of just 42-inches for the LG C2 TV, while the G2 also comes in a mammoth 97-inch size option. These are both new size options for OLED TVs that weren’t previously available until this year.
As mentioned, later in the year LG will launch its 8K OLED TV the Z2, as well as the most affordable OLED model in its lineup, the LG A2, which comes with a less advanced 50/60Hz panel but still offers many of the glorious picture benefits associated with OLED.
In terms of prices, the LG B2 starts at just £1,799 for the smallest 55-inch model, while the 42-inch LG C2 is priced at £1,399. Meanwhile, the LG G2 starts at £2,399 for the 55-inch model.
HDTVTest has already gotten its hands on the LG G2 OLED TV and was mightily impressed with the latest model, which offers vivid colours and high contrast images thanks to its OLED Evo panel and new heat sink element that takes its brightness to new heights.
