The TCL C93K is the flagship model for TCL in Europe and will be available in 65-inches and 75-inches. FlatPanelsHD said the larger of the two models will have 1,920 local dimming zones, while the 65-inch model will contain 1,080 zones.

The TCL C93K will run the Google TV operating system and it will also feature an unknown number of HDMI 2.1 ports to support next generation gaming features such as 4K at 120Hz, variable refresh rate and auto low-latency mode. In fact, the C93K boasts a refresh rate of 144Hz, and can support 144Hz gaming with VRR on PCs, TCL said.

Below the flagship model sits the TCL C83K Mini-LED TV, which also runs Google TV and has the same HDMI 2.1 capabilities. On the downside, it comes with fewer local dimming zones, though we don’t yet know the precise number. One plus with the C83K is that it will be available in a smaller 55-inch size, in addition to 65- and 75-inch options.

TCL, which is now the world’s only major TV brand that doesn’t sell OLED TVs, reckons it has made five key improvements to the Mini-LED display technology it first pioneered. They include 16-bit ultra-precise light control, a new LED design that emits light in a circular shape as opposed to a square shape, resulting in less blooming and jagged edges, an improved backlight with a direct drive system that helps boost responsiveness, more uniformity with the Mini-LEDs across the entire panel, plus a new “demura” feature that helps to boost colour and light consistency.

These improvements will only go into the C93K and C83K, for the step down C73K and C63K TVs are only regular QLED models.

They do at least both run Google TV and the C73K has an enormous 98-inch size option for those who believe bigger is always better. Moreover, the TV still boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 gaming features. As for the TCL C63K, this is powered by a 50Hz panel so no gaming features we’re afraid. It’s also available in smaller sizes, starting at 43-inches up to a maximum 75-inches.

TCL said the C93K, C83K, C73K and C63K TVs will go on sale this summer. There will also be two affordable TCL models going on sale in the summer in the shape of the P73K and the P63K, which will be 4K TVs running Android TV.

In addition to the TVs, TCL Europe announced a new range of soundbars, including a premium 5.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos model.

The C935U is a second-generation Dolby Atmos soundbar that incorporates “Ray-Danz” technology and provides an “extremely wide” soundstage via its five channels, wireless subwoofer and three up-firing speakers. The company is also launching the 3.1 channel P733W soundbar and the 2.1 channel S522W soundbar later this year.
