The English Premier League is set to return to action on June 17th following a three-month long pause due to the coronavirus, and with fans no longer allowed to attend, every single match is set to be broadcast live in the U.K.

With that in mind, there’s never been a better time for footy fans to invest in a new TV, and LG Electronics is positioning its latest 2020 range as the perfect option to tune into the matches starting next week.

LG’s TV lineup this year includes some of the most affordable OLED TVs yet seen, including the world’s first 48-inch model, the LG OLED48CX (pictured, above). And although it’s smaller than any other OLED TV launched so far, the LG CX doesn’t compromise on picture quality, with 4K resolution and features such as Dolby Vision IQ, Filmmaker Mode, Auto Genre Selection and the company’s new α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI Processor all combining to boost the TV’s picture and sound quality to heighten viewers’ sense of immersion.

The LG CX is priced at just £1,499, making it one of the cheapest OLED TVs around, but for those with bigger budgets and a desire for an even more immersive experience, the company doesn’t disappoint. Take this year’s LG Gallery Series (pictured, below), which also sports and OLED display is available in a choice of 55-, 65- and 77-inches. The Gallery Series, which starts at just £2,299 for the smallest version, is ideal for anyone who cares about the aesthetics of their living room, with its minimalist, ultra-thin form factor that allows it to mount almost flush with the wall.

Meanwhile those who want the most accurate picture possible should look no further than LG’s newest 8K TV, the ZX (below). Weighing in at 77-inches and priced at £24,999 for the cheapest, the LG ZX takes the idea of immersive viewing to the next level with four-times the detail of any 4K TV. It’s also available in 88-inches, though LG has yet to confirm pricing.

All of the above TVs are uniquely suited for live footy action, with a brand new Sports Alert feature enabling viewers to follow their favourite teams with real-time alerts, scores, team news and schedules available at your fingertips. The new LG TVs also offer a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes it possible to enjoy the fast-paced action without sacrificing on image quality. Moreover, the Auto Genre Selection feature uses an AI engine to recognise the content on screen, and adjust the picture processing to suit.

“Now that the only way to enjoy football is at home, investing in a high-quality TV has never been more important,” said LG UK’s home entertainment product manager James Thomas. “LG’s 2020 TV range includes everything from TVs with OLED technology to 8K TVs and 4K Ultra HD TVs, all of which deliver best-in class picture and sound quality. All of the technology in these TVs create an unrivalled viewing experience which is as close to being in the stadium as it gets.”
