Philips has provided a sneak peek of its upcoming Philips OLED907 (pictured, below) and OLED937 TVs, which will be its top two OLED models in 2022.
The TVs were both the recipients of a Red Dot design award, which saw their cover broken for the first time, FlatPanelsHD reported. The Philips OLED937 reportedly comes with an improved Bowers & Wilkins sound system that includes up-firing and side-firing Dolby Atmos drivers.
According to the details described by the Red Dot committee, the Philips OLED907 also has an integrated Bowers & Wilkins sound system that’s wrapped in a luxurious fabric cover and features an embedded subwoofer in the back cover. The remote is extremely elegant too wrapped in leather on the sides and rear surface, while the TV itself has a centre-aligned aluminium swivel stand. The OLED907 will reportedly be available in a choice of 48-, 55- and 65-inch sizes.
"The surprisingly small stand footprint in satin dark metal is achieved by having a non-visible rear stability bar which allows the TV to swivel for a great user experience," TP Vision, which operates the Philips brand in Europe, said in a statement.
As for the Philips OLED937 (below), this comes with a separated Bowers & Wilkins sound system that supports Dolby Atmos and also four-sided Ambilight, which is Philips’ signature ambient mood lighting technology. It too has a classy leather remote and fabric speaker cover. So far, only a 77-inch size has been confirmed, but it would be surprising if that is the only option.
New additions for 2022 include side-firing drivers that are “visualized by the angled metal speaker plates”, TP Vision explained. “The detailing of the holes in the plan echo the central exposed tweeter mesh which is a reference to the Bowers & Wilkins own speaker detailing. The finishing on all metal parts are a move away from full chrome with a satin aluminium finish to easily fit into modern homes.”
TP Vision had already confirmed earlier in the year that its upcoming mid-tier OLED TV, the Philips OLED807, wil come with LG Display’s newer, brighter and more energy-efficient OLED EX display panel. There’s been no such confirmation for the OLED907 and OLED937, but given these are supposed to be more premium models, we can therefore assume that OLED EX will be included.
All three Philips TVs are expected to run the Android TV platform. More details will likely emerge in September during the 2022 IFA Show in Berlin.
