Danish electronics brand Bang & Olufsen is raising the bar with the launch of its latest Beovision Harmony TV, featuring the world’s first 88-inch OLED display and 8K resolution.

Bang & Olufsen debuted its original Beovision Harmony TV at the Milan Design week event in 2019. That was a stunning, 77-inch OLED TV married with B&) sound and design aesthetics, with a beautiful ‘butterfly wing’ effect where two oak and aluminium panels fan out just like a butterfly opening its wings when the TV is switched on. The screen promptly rises above the wings to an optimal viewing height.

The company then followed up with a smaller 65-inch model sporting the same butterfly effect, and since April this year both models have been available with a beautiful wooden finish.

Now, B&O is updating the Beovision Harmony TV with its most luxurious model yet, measuring 88-inches across, or more than two metres wide. The TV sports LG Display’s new 2020 OLED 8K ZX display, which B&O says has been optimized especially for this model.

The TV comes with some of the most advanced TV technologies ever seen, including LG’s latest Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI Processor that helps to further finesse the image quality and deliver various other features that can optimise different kinds of content.

Audio is delivered via a built-in three channel sound system and dual subwoofer, though the TV is also compatible with B&Os own range of luxury speakers. Users can connect up to eight wireless Beolab speakers to enable a full 7.1 surround sound system.

The self-emitting OLED display also delivers High Dynamic Range picture quality for compatible content, with support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG formats. There are four HDMI 2.1 ports too.

Self-emitting OLED technology also delivers HDR (High Dynamic Range) picture quality. The TV supports HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. It is equipped with four HDMI 2.1 ports.

The Beovision Harmony 88-inch 8K TV clearly marks B&O’s return to the ultra luxury TV segment, and it’s fair to say that if you have to ask how much it costs, you probably won’t be able to afford it. For sake of clarity, the company is asking for an eye-popping £44,100 to get your hands on the TV which also comes with a B&O sound center, a floor stand and the Beoremote One.

For those looking for something similar, LG will soon be launching a more standard version of the 88-inch ZX TV. That model will be priced at $30,000 (around £24,300) in the U.S., so you’ll be paying a hefty premium for B&O’s luxury version, which will go on sale at the end of June.
